PHOTO LASER ENGRAVING EXPLAINED

Laser engraving allows us to create amazingly detailed photos on materials that traditional printing techniques just cant achieve. The beauty of engraving is the longevity. Normal printing techinques will fade over time, so if you want something or someone special to be remebered for ever, laser photo engraving is the method you should choose.

GENERAL RULES FOR PHOTO ENGRAVING

The key to photo engraving is the resolution. Images for laser engraving should have a resolution of at least 300dpi, but our machine can handle up to 1000dpi.  Small images should never be stretched as this will effect the overall resolution.    Where possible larger images should be used to ensure a high quality finish.

Images that are suitable for photo engraving should have a good contrast,  be well exposed and the elements in the image should stand out against a light back ground. Images where the exposure is too weak, making the people look like they are in the shadows, make it difficult for details to be picked out and engraved by the machine.
